What are Sealants?
Children’s molars have narrow, deep grooves on the chewing surface, making them more prone to trapping food and plaque, which leads to cavities, as toothbrush bristles can’t easily reach these areas. Sealants fill in these grooves to prevent cavities, offering about 70–80% effectiveness in cavity prevention.
-
Clean the tooth surface to ensure no impurities remain.
-
Apply acid etching to the surface.
-
After acid etching, apply the sealant.
