Hi, this is Riley from ID Hospital!
Today, I’d like to share a 1-year post-op review of male facial contouring surgery.
It’s been exactly a year since the surgery, and the patient gave us some very insightful feedback about his journey.

Many men struggle with the thought, “My face looks too big.”
Especially when taking photos, a wide jawline or blunt chin can make the face appear larger, leading to a lack of confidence and even avoiding group photos altogether.
The patient in today’s story also had this concern, which eventually brought him to ID Hospital.
Through jaw contouring surgery, he was able to refine his facial line — and one year later, he is living with much more confidence.
Facial contouring surgery generally includes zygoma reduction, genioplasty (chin surgery), square jaw reduction, and osteotomy techniques.
For male patients, one of the most common worries is:
“Will my face look too slim and feminine after surgery?”
That’s why maintaining a masculine jawline while creating a slimmer, more refined appearance is essential.
In this case, after detailed consultation, the patient and surgeon decided on M-osteotomy.
This technique is not just about creating a smaller face but achieving both “masculinity + definition” at the same time.
The patient initially worried that a slimmer face might look too feminine.
However, the surgeon explained the differences between surgical approaches using 3D CT scans and reassured him that his masculine features would remain intact while reducing facial width.
As a result, he confidently proceeded with M-osteotomy.
One of the most common concerns after facial contouring surgery is postoperative swelling.
In this case, the patient experienced:
He emphasized that his fast recovery and reduced swelling were due to the surgeon’s precise technique and thorough post-op care at ID Hospital.
The most significant change was his confidence in photos.
Before surgery, he avoided photos because he felt his face looked big.
But now, no matter the angle, his face looks slimmer and more defined, making photo-taking enjoyable again.
He even mentioned that when others offer to take his picture, he no longer hesitates — instead, he gladly says yes.
He described his experience as:
“I regret hesitating for so long. I’m extremely satisfied with the results.”
This patient highlighted his satisfaction with ID Hospital’s expertise, extensive male case experience, and systematic aftercare.
Thanks to the medical team’s specialization in male jaw contouring, he achieved a slimmer face without losing his masculine charm.
If you’re considering jaw or facial contouring surgery, here are key points to check:
Evaluating these points carefully will help ensure both safety and satisfaction with your results.
Facial contouring is not just about creating a smaller face.
It should be a customized design surgery that considers gender, facial structure, and lifestyle, so that the patient achieves natural and satisfying results.
