How to get non-surgical facial contouring?

Many people want to have a defined jaw shape, but are afraid of undergoing surgery. For people who wish to try non-surgical facial contouring before committing to surgery, there are several options which can be done either alone or together for the maximum effect.

What is non-surgical facial contouring?

Depending on your desired look, certain procedures can be used to temporarily sculpt the face shape.

Locations for filler

1. Fillers

Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid and are used to add volume to the sunken areas of the face. Fillers can also be used to augment areas like chin, jaw, lips, forehead and cheeks. Different types of fillers, and they last from 6 months to a year.

2. Botox

Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is used to relax the muscles, and reduces the thickness of the masseter muscles, making the jaw look slimmer. For wrinkles, the neurotransmitters are blocked, which reduces the fine lines and wrinkles.
Botox can also be used for body contouring procedures like reducing the size of the trapezius muscles, the calf muscles etc. which will create a softer shape.

3. Fat melting injection

The fat melting injection is injected in the dermis and epidermis and helps with lipolysis (breakdown of fat cells) and skin elasticity. This injection gets rid of the excess fat in the jaw area and double chin. It is an excellent product for creating a defined facial contour without having surgery.

Candidates for non-surgical facial contouring

Fillers

Fillers can be administered without any considerations for age, although patients who wish to have surgery after getting fillers, should inform their surgeon beforehand.

Botox

Botox works as a non-surgical facial contouring procedure if you have a wide jaw due to bulky muscles. If your jaw is wide due to the bone, then you cannot expect to get very dramatic results with botox only. Surgery is required for those types of cases.

Fat melting injection

The amount of double chin and skin elasticity level determines if this procedure will make a difference or not. For cases with excessive fat, more sessions will be required. For more severe cases, surgery will be required for removing the excess fat and lifting the skin.

All the non-surgical facial contouring procedures are temporary and can be repeated once to two times per year to maintain the results. Results vary depending on the person.
