‘Transparent orthognathic surgery’ without any trace


An outstanding surgical method of an orthognathic surgery becomes an issue among the public. The method gets its nickname, a perfect crime of orthognathic surgery, and draws the public’s attention. There will not be any trace after surgery because absorbable screws are used during this method, so it is called ‘transparent orthognathic surgery.’

Absorbable screws will last for 6 months and hold bones tightly. The screws then will be absorbed in the bones in 2 years. If a patient who had orthognathic surgery with absorbable screws takes an X-ray, the screws do not show on the film at all. This is a huge difference, compared to the titanium screws which permanently stay in the surgical site and are seen on the X-ray.
