"In thinking about having a tummy tuck in Glens Falls, the turning point for me," Ann explains, "was when I lost weight after my second child. I dieted, I did sit ups—nothing was working." Ann took a hard look at her abdomen and realized, "It"s skin. It"s never going to go away." She also took note of her deflated breasts. Then she began thinking about finding a cosmetic surgeon in Saratoga Springs or Glens Falls for a combination tummy tuck and breast augmentation.

When you hear Ann"s story, you can"t help but feel she"s the very person the term "mommy makeover" was coined to describe. She"s an active, professional woman—an office manager of a local medical practice. She has two children she adores and a terrific husband. When she was finished having children, she didn"t want her life—or her looks—to be anything different than they were.

When her daughter was born five years ago, it was a different story. "I would never have thought about having anything done after my first child," Ann says. "I wasn"t thrilled with my body, but I lived with it. After my daughter was born, I really worked to get back in shape. And the more weight I lost, 45 pounds in total, the more exaggerated the excess tummy skin looked. I"m just not one of those women with the wonderful skin that bounces right back."

Ann was dissatisfied with the look of her breasts as well. "All I can think to say about them is they looked like ski slopes!" Ann relates that before pregnancy and breastfeeding, she was a full C cup. Afterward, she had lost a whole cup size. "I didn"t want to be bigger than I had been before, but I did want my full breasts back."

Surgery Scheduled, Rescheduled
Ann talked with the doctor from ID Hospital, Ann knows that safety is the most important aspect of any surgery. For optimum safety, her procedure was postponed when she came down with a case of strep throat. Though the increased risk of complications was very slight, her surgery was delayed so that her health would not be at risk.

A Speedy Recovery
Two weeks later, Ann"s rescheduled surgery went off without the slightest hitch. She says, "After the procedure I had one small bruise under one breast." When pressed, she continues, "Yes, I did feel what I would term "discomfort" in my abdominal area, particularly at night when I was laying on my side in bed. But I took pain medication for only two days. There was slight swelling and a feeling of "newness" around my breasts. But that"s really about it."

now that several months have passed, she says her results are everything she was hoping for. She"s very pleased with her silicone implants and her renewed C cup breasts. "Silicone implants move with you," Ann explains. "They look very natural, and that"s what I wanted." And her tummy is smooth and flat, a welcome improvement over her stretched and sagging stomach.

Success Factors
Along with the obvious success of the surgery, two factors contribute to Ann"s sense of satisfaction with her "mommy makeover." First, she did her part to lose weight and get back in shape after pregnancy. "I didn"t even need any liposuction with my tummy tuck in Glens Falls," she explains. "I felt good knowing I had done everything I could."

The other key point, as Ann sees it, is that she chose to have surgery for her own reasons. "My husband told me the changes in my body didn"t bother him," she says. "But they bothered me. I didn"t want to look frumpy and dumpy. I care about how I present myself. My husband knew it was important to me, therefore he supported me all the way. But I had the surgery for myself, and that"s how I believe everyone who considers plastic surgery should feel."
Thank you for all in ID hospital
