Before surgery
Hello! I’m Kyu-hee Lee, an undergraduate student who loves music!!
I’m about to have an orthognathic surgery! I have been seriously stressed out due to my protruding chin…
I have so many bad memories because of this chin T^T
And now, I’m greatly excited for the fact that I can finally be free from this protruding chin!!!
I love singing so much, but I can’t pronounce correctly because of malocclusion. This makes me concerned a lot…
The fact that I will have a surgery makes me more excited than worried, because I was told my pronunciation will be improved a lot after the surgery.
Before the surgery, I’m going to meet as many friends as possible and eat as much delicious food as possible with my mom.
I can’t wait to see how I’m going to look after having the surgery ^^
2 days after surgery
Finally, I got the surgery!! The very first day, I was asleep all day~
Nurses taught me how to breathe, the right posture, etc. I don’t remember how the day passed.
Nurses went back and forth, taking care of me all night. So, I was fully relieved and kept waking up and falling asleep.
The second day is way better than the first one.
The fact that it’s just going to be better and more comfortable, is making me feel much better~!
Before having the surgery, I was not afraid of surgery or anything else, and even now I am being very calm!
And the most important thing… my chin… looking at the mirror and it is shortened a lot…
A magical thing happened within a day… This is just amazing.
I’ll be more prettier once the swelling goes away~^^
1 week after surgery
A week has already passed T^T Time does go by fast after the surgery!
It’s also great that it looks like I recover fast, too!!
Even though I didn’t have any orthognathic surgery before, I can tell that ‘no-tie’ orthognathic surgery would be much more comfortable than the regular one because it wasn’t that difficult to breathe from the beginning and to eat food!
I just drank water by my mouth at the hospital when admitted! I was very brave.
Today, I even went out. I met my friend for the first after the surgery, and the friend said that I’m going to be beautiful like a Goddess.
Also, I jumped for joy because I was told that the surgery went so well.
I watched a movie after a while and had a great time~^^
3 weeks after surgery
It’s almost been three weeks, so I went to the hospital!
First, I went to the FaceDiet for swelling care! It is awe~some when receiving care.
My skin becomes smooth and the swelling goes away better.
After the care, I went to the hospital to remove stitches and screws in the mouth! It didn’t hurt that much as expected, but it stung a little so I got scared T^T
After stitches and screws were removed, I felt so refreshed like I became free from constipation!
I’m worrying about not doing exercise, but I think of going to school everyday as an exercise.
I’ll keep you posted.
1 months after surgery
It’s been a month after having the surgery~ There have been a lot of changes during a month.
I eat well and eat dessert after every meal, I think I will gain weight back lool But I’m going to enjoy the happiness of eating for a while.
I sometimes felt pain on my chin after the surgery, but not any more.
I’m relieved that the sensation of my chin has returned back well so far *^^*
Swelling on the cheeks is still there like a mass, but it’s only been a month so I’m going to be patient, do exercise well, and wait~
Even with this appearance, many people tell me I look so pretty or young~ I’m so happy to hear that.
2 months after surgery
These days, I am doing so great that I sometimes forget that I had surgery.
People around me even told me that I had swelling because of the braces, not the surgery. They said that they never would have known that I had a surgery, if I didn’t tell them…
Dr. Seok-jae Lee, you are awesome!!!!
I have no big problems, except for not being able to eat hard or tough food.
I love to take photos of myself, and taking photos becomes my habit, wherever I go or whatever I do.
Even my mom says, “Stop taking photos!” I just can’t stop because I love to do it~!!
You can’t really tell whether I had a surgery, right~~?^^
3 months after surgery
I am over with surgical problems, such as talking, swelling, etc.
Yay, I’m free now. Hurray!!! So, I’m focusing on the orthodontic procedure very hard!
After the surgery, I thought, “Until when will I be like this…? When can I recover?”, but I have recovered really fast!!
I do appreciate Dr. Seok-jae Lee and other health care staffs for taking care of me so well T^T!!
Isn’t it so abrupt? But, I’m sincere^^
My parents are so happy for me, and I finally met my friends again after a while and they said I became so beautiful… Thanks, guys T.T
Ah! One thing that I like the most after the surgery!!! I can sing my favorite songs with accurate pronunciation!
I’ve been looking forward to this moment so much. I’m going to practice singing a lot ^^
