Before Surgery
I had been looking online for a place to finally have my FFS procedures.
A year after being on hormone replacement therapy, and I was ready for the next step. With that in mind, I did a ton of research and finally, I decided on ID Hospital.
I loved how the after pictures looked on their social media, and I was also happy about the lack of bad reviews online. From the beginning, I knew that I didn’t want a slight alteration of my appearance with the amount of money I knew I’d have to spend.
I wanted a drastic change so I could become a better, upgraded version of myself. I knew what needed and wanted to be in order to achieve the life I’d so often dreamt about.
Consultation Day
I was curious, excited and also anxious. I mostly felt anxious as the surgery time got closer.
I was excited at the thought of waking up only a few hours later with essentially a new beginning, but also just as curious about how their work would mesh well with the look I had envisioned for myself. Not only that but you really have to put a ton of trust in your doctors. That can be terrifying. I was hoping they wouldn’t give me a reason to doubt them.
1 Week after surgery
During this point, I really panicked due to the swelling. I thought my surgery didn’t go well. I was so terrified that I’d made a mistake and I’d trusted the wrong people. It’s amazing what being unrecognizably swollen will do to your mind and self-esteem! Even though they assured me the swelling was normal, I was very skeptical at this point.
2 Weeks after surgery
At 2 weeks post-surgery, is when I really saw and accepted that the surgery results were actually good. As my swelling reduced, I wanted all the bandages off and the rest of the swelling to go so I could see my final surgery results.
1 Month after surgery
The adjustment period is necessary to adjust to your new surgery face. Having a whole new face (along with it being a flawless one) is a lot to adjust to. People stared and they still do. What changed is that, now I was also getting a lot of compliments, which is something that was very new to me. I needed to re-adjust my makeup style to fully compliment my new facial features.
3 Months after surgery
Can I say that I was SO VAIN?
I felt so good, looked amazing and was beyond thankful. My blessings just kept coming one after another!
6 Months after surgery
I went back to have fat graft. I was also considering getting a breast augmentation surgery, so I waited to go and have both surgeries together, along with some lifting.
9 Months to 1 year after surgery
I feel like after this long, the only thing I had left to work on is how I felt inside.
Once you’re accustomed to the all the attention and the benefits of your new appearance... you start feeling like something is missing.
That’s basically time to find out who you are again. With my surgery experience, I learned that looks aren’t everything in the end.
You have got to find yourself, and through that, you’ll find full confidence. My face is amazing. I feel amazing. And I found love. But above all, I love myself, both before, and after surgery.
My life is perfect now and I owe it all to ID Hospital. I’m forever grateful.
