Before Surgery
I always felt like I had to hide my face. I wasn't comfortable with my face or body. What I saw in pictures and the mirror was not what I wanted to see every day. I hid my face by using filters and photo editing apps. I was tired of it and decided to do something about it!
Consultation Day
Before face to face consultation, we are told a starting price for our surgeries. Once I came to Korea and had face to face consultation I was worried about the price and was worried I couldn't afford it and was about to choose a different surgery to undergo. It's a hard decision and I didn't have all week to think about it since my surgery was scheduled for the next day. But luckily I had enough money to get the surgeries I planned for! It was a big relief and made me ultimately excited for the next day.
1 Week after surgery
The first few days were, of course, exhausting and a bit painful. In short, the worst of it all. It's possible to endure but the days drag on forever because you just want to lie in bed after you just had major surgery. There wasn't much to make the time go by quick so all you focus on is the pain.
2 Weeks after surgery
Two weeks after surgery I was able to do the things I've been dying to do in Korea! I was able to go out and eat with friends and go shopping without worry about my nose dripping all over the place under my face mask. Since I had breast surgery, it was still a little hard to get around as it made me tired of walking quickly but I knew that if I walked more, I'll heal faster.
1 Month after surgery
One month post surgery I was still waiting for results as my face and nose was still swollen to a great extent. I still had some complications opening my mouth when wanting to eat things such as an apple and frustrated me a little bit. I had pain in the left breast often while the right breast was completely fine. They were healing at two different paces which made me believe something was wrong with one side.
3 Months after surgery
Around three months after my surgery, I was able to see the results that I was (impatiently) waiting for! This had been the best stage of my surgery honestly. I was finally feeling confident. I threw all the filters and photo editing away and proudly posed for photos without any hands near my face. It felt like a new me after I healed and I felt more confident and happy that I didn't always have to worry about people judging if I was pretty enough or not.
6 Months after surgery
I returned to Korea at this point for a whole semester. Feeling confident, I wasn't too afraid of their vicious beauty standards as I used to think that nobody would talk to me if I wasn't pretty. At this time I had nothing to worry about and continued moving forward in life as my appearance was no longer getting in the way of what I wanted to accomplish.
Unfortunately, since I was fully healed at this point, I would eat everything in sight. Therefore I gained a bit of weight after this which added a few pounds to my face. I was surrounded by the food I wanted to eat the last time I was in Korea but obviously couldn't, so I absolutely couldn't resist this time.
9 Months to 1 year after surgery
I feel great!! I can't believe it's been almost a year now! Since I stopped worrying about my appearance so much and thinking about how to save money for surgery, the time just went by so quickly. As I said, I was able to continue on with my life and just live freely. My goodness, I've bought so many new clothes now. It also feels amazing to not worry if I could pull off a certain type of shirt or not. But for now, in the meantime, I'm working on losing the extra weight I've gained so I can have the maximum results!
Surgery didn't just fix my appearance, it fixed my confidence and lifestyle too. I am so grateful for ID Hospital. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
