Eyelid surgery

2017-01-19 09:02

I am 18 years old and have been using eyelid glue since the age of 13 and am looking for a permanent solution. I have never had any prior surgery. I live in Vancouver, Canada and I did have a consultation with a doctor here that told me the results I want are not able to achieve.

Photo #1 Here is a photo of how my eyelid look naturally. It fluctuates though. Sometimes I have monolids or sometimes just one eyelid.

Photo #2 Here is a photo of what I am able to achieve through the use of eyelid glue. I spend up to 40 minutes everyday.

Thank you and I look forward to your reply.

Thank you for taking your time to send us your photo and showing an interest in ID Hospital. We have reviewed your case and the following are our recommendations for you.

I would like to remind you that recommendations are purely recommendations; it would take face-to-face consultation with our well experienced doctors using possible X-ray and CT scan in order to give you accurate diagnosis and the best surgical plan tailored to your needs.

Based on your photo, for your eyes, we recommend the incision eyelid surgery to create even double eyelids. As for the results you want, the reason why such a thick crease is not recommended is because, there is a chance you may not be able to close your eyes completely, so the doctor will be able to give you a thicker eye crease, but not the same results as the glue. Please also note using the glue will stretch your eyelids more, as the eyelid skin is thin, so try not to use it that much.

Id hospital’s ‘Skinny’ incision eyelid surgery
For eyelids that have excess amounts of fat deposits, muscles, tissues and thick skin, an incisional eyelid surgery is usually done.
Skinny incision supplements all of disadvantages of conventional incisional methods. The name ‘skinny incision’ is used to refer to the crease looking natural and smooth.
The eyelid becomes slim because excess fat, muscles and tissues that make the eyelid thick are redistributed or removed.
