Small Incisions, Big Results: Mini Facelift at ID Hospital

Hi, this is Riley from ID Hospital! 👋

Today, I want to share a story about Mini Facelift surgery—a procedure that’s becoming increasingly popular among patients who want visible results without the downtime of a full facelift.

Many people begin to notice sagging skin and deeper lines as early as their 20s, and while some turn to laser treatments or thread lifts, others seek a longer-lasting solution. That’s where the Mini Facelift comes in.

Let’s explore what it is, how it works, and why so many patients are choosing this procedure at ID Hospital.

What is Mini Facelift surgery?

As we age, gravity and skin laxity cause sagging around the face, especially in the nasolabial folds, jawline, and double chin area. For patients who find laser or thread lift procedures insufficient—but also feel that a full facelift is too invasive—the Mini Facelift provides the perfect balance: noticeable improvement with minimal burden.

Target areas

The most common concerns treated with a Mini Facelift are:

  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Jawline definition
  • Sagging double chin

This procedure is especially recommended for patients who did not see satisfying results from laser or thread lifting.

Surgical method

The surgery is performed through a small 1–1.5 cm incision hidden inside the scalp.

The SMAS layer (a key supportive tissue beneath the skin) is lifted and secured upward, tightening sagging tissues for a natural rejuvenated look.

Patient story 💬

One of our patients came to ID Hospital with concerns about her double chin and nasolabial folds.

Just one month after undergoing Mini Facelift surgery, she shared that her friends thought she had simply lost weight—because her scar was completely hidden and unnoticeable. Along with lifting, she had a small amount of fat removed, which further refined her facial contour.

Her only regret? “I wish I had done this earlier instead of wasting time worrying!”

About scars

The incisions are placed discreetly inside the scalp or behind the ear. Since scalp tissue is rich in stem cells around the follicles, scars tend to heal quickly and become almost invisible over time. Even if a scar forms initially, it fades rapidly and remains hidden.

By lifting sagging skin and fatty tissues, the Mini Facelift not only defines the jawline but can also create the effect of facial slimming. In many cases, uneven or “peanut-shaped” facial contours become smoother and more refined.

Recovery period

The recovery process is surprisingly short.

Although mild swelling may occur—especially around the ears—the incision is hidden in the hairline, making it barely noticeable. Most patients can return to daily life the very next day without others realizing they’ve had surgery.

Minor swelling usually subsides within a week, revealing natural and refreshed results.

Post-surgery care

  • Makeup and face washing are allowed immediately, as long as you avoid pressing on the incision area.
  • Hair washing is possible after 3 days, but avoid rubbing the incision site.
  • Some patients may experience temporary dryness or flaking due to skin contraction. Using hydrating products, sheet masks, or moisturizers is not only safe but also beneficial during recovery.

Final thoughts

The Mini Facelift is highly sought after because it delivers dramatic results in a short time—all with minimal downtime.

However, because it achieves so much through such a small incision, it’s crucial to undergo this procedure with an experienced surgeon who understands both technique and aesthetics.

Riley’s Note 💡

A facelift isn’t just about looking younger—it’s about restoring confidence, redefining facial harmony, and rejuvenating both appearance and spirit.

At ID Hospital, our focus is on natural, long-lasting results that help patients look and feel like the best version of themselves.
