Contrary to popular belief, one does not need to always have all their facial features changed at once. Since everyone’s facial features and proportion differ, having one surgery can make a big difference in the facial balance.
One such patient, Xinyi, came to ID Hospital to have a ptosis correction surgery which includes tightening the levator muscles in the eyes, and using sutures to create a double eyelid (also known as blepharoplasty surgery in some countries). We checked up on her a year after her surgery to see what changes she experienced in that duration.
ID Hospital: Hi! Please introduce yourself!
Xinyi: Hi! My name is Xinyi and I’m from Singapore.
ID Hospital: How did you get find ID Hospital? Why did you decide to have your surgery here?
Xinyi: I found ID Hospital through medical tourism recommendations. The reason why I ended up choosing ID hospital is because the before and after photos results are the most natural and closest to what I wanted.
ID Hospital: What do you feel the eye surgery has added to your life?
Xinyi: Before surgery, my eyes made me look tired and older than I was. After the ptosis correction double eyelid surgery, I can put on makeup easily and I don’t look as tired as before. It changed my life as it leaves a better impression on the people that I meet.
ID Hospital: Do you think surgery is necessary for someone to find their confidence?
Xinyi: If you think there is a need to change your appearance, be it a minor or major change in order to feel more confident, I definitely think you should get it done.
ID Hospital: How do you view yourself now, after surgery? Are you more confident?
Xinyi: I find myself much more confident compared to before. I tried to hide from people with eye contacts, because I did not like my eyes. I don’t think I’m pretty but at least I had my eyes fixed, which is the only change I wanted at the time. Each person may have different needs, but for me, my major concern was my eyes and now that they look the way I want, I am confident with my appearance.
ID Hospital: Any message for anyone out there who wishes to have surgery?
Xinyi: For those who are not confident with their looks and feel that there is a need to change, I definitely say go for it. It’s your own body, you can do whatever you want to it. There is no need to explain to anyone as your happiness and satisfaction come first. Good luck! 🙂
