Anti-aging

Why you need to restore your youth with these procedures

Once you get older, your main focus shifts on how to restore your youth.

Taking pre-cautions from a young age, like using sunscreen, wiping make-up off, using moisturizing products might have been a part of your daily routine. Even then, a time comes when you see the lines start to appear on your face.

The signs of aging differ per individual, with some people aging gracefully, and others requiring a little “pick-me up” to turn back the hands of time. Laugh lines, dark or saggy under eyes, loss of fat volume all add years to your face.

So how can you restore your youth?

There are the non-surgical ways (which we will discuss in a future post) which can produce good results depending on your skin, and there are surgical ways to restore your youth and confidence.

Upper part of the face

Wrinkles and sagginess on the upper part of the face can be dealt with non-surgical ways when young, but at some point, surgical intervention is required.

Wrinkles on the forehead area and sagginess can be improved with an endotine forehead lift. The surgery lifts the forehead and brow area, getting rid of fine lines.

For saggy skin on the upper eyelid, an upper blepharoplasty is recommended. The excess skin and fat are removed and the eyelid crease is defined for younger looking eyes. For the under eye area, depending on the person, 3 types of surgery are available to improve the under eye area. If there is excess fat, but the skin is not sagging, then fat removal can be done.

For sunken under eyes, the under eye fat can either be repositioned or fat graft can be added to the under eye area. For patients who have loose saggy skin and fat, then a lower blepharoplasty surgery has excess skin and fat removed and the skin is tightened and sewn back. This surgery can minus years off a person’s face.

Middle part of the face

For the mid-face area, non-incisional or incisional lifting is recommended to restore your youth based of the type and level of sagginess. From mid-twenties to mid-thirties, non-incisional lifting procedures can produce great results.

For forties and onwards, incisional lifting methods will produce the maximum effects. The type of incisional lifting is recommended based on the age and sagging skin and different surgeries target different areas (check this post for more information).

Lower part of the face

For the lower part of the face, non-incisional or incisional lifting can be recommended. For excessive sagging, more invasive surgery will produce better, long-lasting results.

Accusculpt and  Fat graft

As we age, excess fat can accumulate on the face, neck and jaw (double chin) and must be removed in conjunction with a lifting procedure for maximum effects. Accusculpt or liposuction can be used to remove excess fat.

Loss of fat creates sunken areas on the face which makes one look tired and old. This lost volume can be replaced by a fat graft procedure which collects fat from either the abdomen or thigh area, and adds the volume to the face. When done with lifting surgeries, it can bring back a healthy glow to the face.

Looking a few years younger will not only improve self-confidence, but can also give you that motivation to pursue something different in your life, whether it be buying that fancy dress you always look at but never buy or that vacation you keep denying yourself every year. How you look on the outside can change how you feel on the inside, so taking care of your face, skin and body is something that is not determined by your age.
