Revision Orthognathic Surgery at ID Hospital korea

Hi, this is Riley from ID Hospital! 👋

Revision two-jaw surgery is more complex than primary surgery.
Since the bones, nerves, occlusion, and soft tissues have already been altered once,
the surgeon must correct both aesthetic and functional issues such as chewing, breathing, and facial balance.

Below is a simple guide to why revision surgery is challenging and why choosing a specialized hospital is essential.

Why Revision Orthognathic Surgery Is Difficult

1. Previously Cut Bones

The jawbones were already cut, making re-osteotomy and reshaping more difficult.

2. Limited Fixation Sites

After removing previous pins, there is less space for new fixation.

3. Altered Anatomy

Bones, nerves, and tissue have shifted, requiring precise planning and reconstruction.
