People usually do not realize this but the brow bone is the one of the facial features
which clearly reveals the gender of the person. A female’s brow bone area is smooth and even. On a side profile view,
a vertical line can be traced on a woman’s brow done.
However, for male counterparts, the brow bones are sloped and very prominent.
This brow ridge is solid bone on the orbital rims, but hollow over the frontal sinuses, right above the nose.
ID’S BROW BONE REUDCTION – WHAT IT DOES
In order to set back the projection of the male forehead to a female forehead’s range, several procedures can be used,
but the brow shaving is the most common. Shaving is also called burring or grinding.
The brow bone is a kind of external shell that covers two empty cavities called frontal sinuses,
which are within the frontal orbital bone.
This external shell of the forehead bone can be shaved up to the point where the frontal sinuses are reached.
That is the limit for “brow bone shaving”
because going any further would mean penetrating the wall which will leave the sinuses uncovered.
This shell (called anterior wall of the frontal sinus) can be thin or thick, depending on the patient’s facial skeleton.

REDUCTION SURGERY INFORMATION
Incision : An incision is made above the eyebrow.
The solid orbital rims are then shaved,
and the incision area is sutured.
The incision is closed with a combination of sutures that will be removed after one week.
It is not uncommon for the eyes to be completely swollen shut for the first 24 hours.
There can also be significant swelling and bruising which will extend down and around the eyes due to gravity.
As the swelling diminishes, so will the pain continue to improve during the span of a week.
The brows area can be numb for several months and it is to be expected.

Q. How does FFS facial contouring surgery differ from regular facial contouring surgery?
A. A special surgical method is necessary because the skeleton of a woman and a man are different.
It is important to create a slim, smooth facial contour, taking into consideration the ratio of the face and not only removing the square jaw.
We recommend that you have surgery with a professional doctor, who has experience creating a more feminine profile specifically for FFS patients.
